When the Internet was first created there were no bad guys. Information security is very important that must be taken into consideration to ensure applications and services in information technology. With the inception of the information technology there has been a remarkable interest in the security to protect information or digital data. Especially, rise of the Internet and internet technologies has caused searching for newer approaches, methods and techniques that try to provide secure internet communication sessions for computer users over the  Internet. Now it is an open network where in we depend for business. By using the internet we can communicate within the enterprises, with business partners, and customers. It is also use for development, testing, selling, marketing, and purchasing, and even use it in support of health care. Internet communication is vulnerable to attack. There are protocols, procedures, and product technologies that can be use to protect Internet communications.

A protocol suite for securing Internet Protocol (IP) communications by authenticating and encrypting each IP packet of a communication session is called Internet Protocol Security (IPsec). It also includes protocols for establishing mutual authentication between agents at the beginning of the session and negotiation of cryptographic keys to be used during the session. An end-to-end security scheme operating in the Internet Layer of the Internet Protocol Suite, used in protecting data flows between a pair of hosts (host-to-host), between a pair of security gateways (network-to-network) or between a security gateway and a host (network-to-host). Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), Transport Layer Security (TLS) and Secure Shell (SSH)  are some of the internet security systems that is widely use to operate in the upper layers of the TCP/IP model. To protect any application traffic across an IP network, IPsec is used. SSL (Secure Sockets Layers) are cryptographic protocols which provide secure communications on the Internet for such things as web browsing, e-mail, Internet faxing, and other data transfers.

To be able to ensure in the internet communication there are different approaches, methods and techniques are being introduced in time. There are different kinds of systems and programs that has been designed and developed to implement introduced approaches, methods or techniques in the internet environment. All of these developments and improvements target to ensure a secure communication over the internet. Secure communication is performing communication in different ways so that the third party cannot listen to the communication. Nowadays, this concept is used as the “secure internet communication” to define security aspects of the internet communication. There are different categories and titles to secure internet communication. Methods and techniques are taken into consideration to explain the subject briefly. The security in internet communication can be categorized under three main titles; hiding the content; hiding individuals of the communication; and hiding the communication environment. With systems and programs, there are many different types on the market that are widely used to ensure security during the internet communication. These system and programs are Firewalls, Anti Virus-Spyware-Malware Programs,  Monitoring Systems, Encryption-Decryption Systems, Secure Messaging (IM) Programs, Secure Conferencing Programs, Other Specific Systems or Programs. It is important to be careful and be cautious in this day.
